Carotid Studio Analysis

In Carotid Studio you can choose among three type of analysis by using the selector in the top bar of the analysis window:

Stiffness and IMT Analisys

The analysis is carried out on video clips of the longitudinal section of the carotid artery. The IMT and the diameter are computed on each of the images of the clip and the final results show the average of the results computed on each of the image. Stiffness parameters are then computed by using the diameter waveform and pressure values manually entered by the user. In case a duplex (b-mode + PWD) ultrasound scan is used, Doppler analysis can be performed and the final results show the average of the results computed on each of the image.

IMT Analysis

The analysis is carried out on still images (they may be an image of a video clip). The results of IMT and the diameter are computed on the analysed image. In case a duplex (b-mode + PWD) ultrasound scan is used, Doppler analysis can be performed.

Plaque Analysis

The analysis is carried out on still images (they may be an image of a video clip). A manual tracing tool can be used to trace the two borders of the vessel and the plaques.
